Gregory D. Lane

Kingsport, TN – Gregory D. Lane, 56, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Greg was born on March 3, 1970, in Virginia to Ann (Lambert) Lane and the late Haskell D. Lane. He was a kind and caring man who cherished his family and the relationships he built throughout his life. Those who knew Greg will remember his gentle spirit and the love he had for those closest to him.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Genie Lane; his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Jeanette Brickey Lambert; his sister, Cindy Ann Bowders; and his beloved niece, Brooke Bowders.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Ann (Lambert) Lane, Kingsport, TN; his stepdaughter, Erin Marchand, Alexandria, VA; his sister, Ronda (Lane) Collier, Dumfries, VA; his stepmother, Becky Lane; step brother, Wayne Elkins; stepsister, Dawn Evans (Billy); his special uncles, Bruce Lane, Fairview, VA and Jay Lambert, Indiana; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Yates (Chris), Brittany Maus (Kurtis), Kristin Burns (Gavin), and J.D. Bowders (Libby); along with eight great-nieces and great-nephews and many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in the chapel of Gate City Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. with Evangelist Garry Hood officiating. Music will be provided by the Hood Family.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the love, prayers, and kindness shown during this difficult time.
