Frankie Irene Cordle

Frankie Irene Cordle, 89, Nickelsville, VA, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at her residence.

Frankie was born in Scott County, VA on May 10, 1936, to the late Hobart and Stella Mae (Summey) Flanary.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Ellis Fred Cordle; son, Freddy Lee Cordle; daughter-in-law, Deborah Cordle; niece, Lorie Flanary; sisters, Joanne Lucas and Georgie Flanary; brothers, James, Lonnie and Hobart Flanary Jr. preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Timothy Cordle (Deanna), Randall Cordle, Michael Cordle (Sherry), Karen Gullett (Jason), Brenda Marshall (Norman); sister, Betty Jean Vicars; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home with Travis Stapleton and Jason Gullett officiating. David and Debbie Easterling, Travis and Robin Stapleton will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Cordle Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Blake Cordle, Ethan Cordle, Christopher Cordle, Shawn Cordle, Justin Duty and Raven Marshall will serve as pallbearers. Norman Marshall, Randy Cordle, Tim Cordle and Mike Cordle will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Elite Hospice and nurses, Emily and Monica.
