Vivian Irene Folden, 96, Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
Her children rise up and call her blessed; Proverbs 31:28.
Vivian was born September 10, 1922 in Scott County, VA to the late Jeff and Oakley Graham.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Ralph Folden; son Wayne Folden; and 5 brother and 2 sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Ernest (Hoss) Folden (Geraldine), Bloomingdale, TN, Ivan Folden (Loreen), Fall Branch, TN, Harold Folden (Beth), Lebanon, IN; daughters, Ruth Cleek (John), Manville, VA, Ruby Jean Cavin (Homer), Gate City, VA, Wilma Baker (Jimmy), Fort Blackmore, VA, and Frances Shupe, Fort Blackmore, VA; daughter-in-law, Kay Folden; 144 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sister, Geneva Steffey; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Browder and Pastor Jonathan Bear officiating. Larry McMurray will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gate City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Homer Cavin, Jimmy Baker, John Stapleton, and Dr. Todd Cassell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the staff of Clinch River Health Services and the staff of NOVA Health and Rehab for their care of Mrs. Folden.
