Donald Kimp Elliott, 88, Longwood, FL and formerly of Scott County, VA passed away, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamont Springs, FL.
Don was born in Scott County, VA on October 15,1930, and was the son of the late Stephen Author and Lucy (Gilkey) Elliott. He was a veteran of the United States Marines serving in the Korean War, and later going to work as a machinist with G.M. Motors.
In addition to his parents, his sisters and brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Norma J. Elliott, Longwood, FL; daughters, Cindy Storch, Longwood, FL, and Sandy Evans and husband, Bryan, Vass, NC; son, Rick Elliott, Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Grace Storch, Longwood, FL; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jeff DeBoard officiating. Music will be provided Judy McConnell.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Elliott Family Cemetery, Scott County, VA by members of the American Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service.
