Elizabeth Turner Simpson – Gate City, VA

Elizabeth Turner Simpson, 89, Gate City, VA, passed away, Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Elizabeth was born in Gate City, VA, on June 1, 1933, to the late David Van Buren Turner and Maggie Lee Mays.

Elizabeth was a member of the Moccasin St. Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Oscar Otis Simpson; son-in-law, Leland Williamson; sisters, Francis Thomas, Denicy Ruffner, Catherine Spencer, Laura Gaines, Betty Wolfe, Fostena Parkey; and brothers, David Turner, Pearline Turner, Nathaniel Turner, and Cornelius Turner preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Marie Williamson; grandson, Eli Williamson; granddaughters, Whitney Anderson (Ali Kasongo), Brittany Frazier (Seth), Jala Williamson; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA, with Bro. Mark Harbison officiating. Music will be provided by the congregation.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15p.m., to go in procession to the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
