Dora Ann Calton- Duffield, VA

Dora Ann Calton, 71, Duffield, VA, went home to be with Jesus Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Dora was born in Scott County, VA, on July 31, 1954, to the late Garland Monroe Calton, and Stella Edith (Miller) Calton.

In addition to her parents, her sister, Juanita Townsend; and brother, little Willie Frank Calton preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Josh Calton (Alisha); sister, Norma Townsend (Lonnie); brothers, Gerald Calton (Barb), Daniel Calton, and Alonzo Calton; grandchildren, Savannah Grace and Jackson Timothy; her Bowen’s Chapel Church Family; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Samuel Newland and Rev. Jackie Frazier officiating. Bowen’s Chapel Singers will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Miller Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45p.m., for the graveside service.

Josh Calton, Jackson Calton, Dale Townsend, Dusty Townsend, Robert Townsend, and Fred Williams will serve as pallbearers. Daniel Calton, Gerald Calton, and Alonzo Calton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
