Donna Ann Sanders, 51, of Hill Station, Virginia, passed away, September 1, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She is preceded in death by her dad, Billy Carter; grandparents, Ray (Hazel) Carter, and George (Elisa) Darnell, along with several aunts and uncles.

Donna is survived by her husband, Joe Sanders; mother, Georgia Carter; son, Bradley Williams; daughter, Abigail Williams; granddaughter, Nova; and stepdaughter, Christy Sanders.

Donna was loved by all who knew her. She had a bubbly and cheerful personality. She was a custodian at Weber City Elementary School and also a cafeteria worker at Rye Cove High School. She loved her family and friends very much. She was always smiling and laughing.

She loved her fur buddy, Big Boy, along with a very special cousin, Brenda Estepp, special sister-in-law, Jane Ramey, and her side kick and care giver, Marie Darnell. Donna will be loved and missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home and at any time at the home of Joe Sanders. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Denny Hass officiating. Chris Holder will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., at the Hill Family Cemetery, Hill Station, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to give thanks to all who cared for and loved Donna during her battle with cancer. Donations to the Sanders family are appreciated at this time to aid in expenses.
