Obituary

Donna Kaye (Sluss) Lell, 55, of Dungannon, Virginia, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Donna was born June 17, 1971, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Donnie Sluss and Lizzie Belle (Dean) Sluss.

In addition to her parents; her grandparents, Geneva (Nevie) Dean, James (Jim) Dean, Lois Sweeney Sluss, Ballard Sluss Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joseph Lell; her daughter, Elizabeth Jasmine Lell and Justin Banks; her beloved grand fur babies, Drake and Molly; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Maxim Healthcare Services of Abingdon, Virginia, as well as her cousins, Sherry Dollie and friend, Paula Kilgore Riddle, for the love, kindness, and support they showed Donna.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Steve Collins officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Ben Sluss Memorial Cemetery, Twin Springs Road, Dungannon, Virginia. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Gary Joe Chaffin, Brad Chaffin, Cole Compton, Cole Osborne, Greg Robinson, Jimmy Sergent and Jason Sluss will serve as pallbearers.
