Donald “Tom” James Pafford – Kingsport, TN

Donald “Tom” James Pafford, 85, Kingsport, TN, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Lakebridge in Johnson City, TN.

Tom was born on April 29, 1940, in Atkins, VA to the late Josephine Catherine (Hutton) and Marvin Clifton Pafford, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as an MP at Ft. Bliss. He loved to watch wildlife, fish and was a basketball legend at Lynn View. Tom was a loving father, husband, uncle and was kind to all.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Pat Geraldine (Arnold) Pafford; daughter, Sarah Pafford; sisters, Geraldine Dickey and Shirley Raum; brothers, Marvin Clifton Pafford, Jr and Ronnie Pafford preceded him in death.

He is survived by his companion of 12 years, Judith Deskins; sons, James Pafford, Jason Pafford and Marsha; sisters, Jan Lester (Allen) “Barney”, Sandra June Delaney, Vicki Pendergrass (Phil), Peggy Lifford, Theda Jennings (Robert); brothers, John Pafford (Gilda) and Rick Pafford; grand dog, Mossy; along with several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes no formal services will be conducted.
