Donald R. Bowen – Duffield, VA Donald R. Bowen, 83, Duffield, VA was taken by God’s hand and led Home, Saturday. September 6, 2025. Donald was born in Scott County, Virginia on April 2, 1942, and was the son of the late Ernest Thomas Bowen and Emmer Lou Miller Bowen. In addition to his parents, his wife Violet Rose Bowen, infant son, Donald Keith Bowen; preceded him in death.

He leaves behind, a daughter, Michelle Bishop and husband, best friend and caregiver, Eddie, Duffield, VA; sons, Erick Darrell Bowen and wife, Alisha, Duffield, VA and Edward Bowen and wife, Lisa, Duffield, VA; sisters, Rosey Calton and Phyllis Bowen; grandchildren, Austin Bowen and wife, Makenzie; Punkin and Michael Gibson, James and Sarah Jones, Hunter and Caden Bishop, Donavin and fiance', Keynisha Williams, Anakin and Zackery Bowen; great grandchildren, Aliyah and Luke Gibson, Briana and Natalie Jones, great grandson, Ace, Jax Bowen; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the family residence.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Bowen Cemetery on Bowen Mountain in Duffield, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. The Family asks that everyone meet at the Cemetery at by 1:45 pm.

Bowen's Chapel Church will be providing a meal for family and friends following the Graveside Service.
