Dewey Curtis Griffin, 82, went to be with Jesus on Friday, August 15, 2025, at home. He was born March 7, 1943, in Clinchport, VA, to the late Clyde and Elsie Flanary Griffin.
Dewey retired from AFG Industries, Kingsport, TN. He liked to coon hunt, work with cattle, and enjoyed different outside work.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Burke and Janice Gibson, brothers, Elwood, Dee, Glen, Carlos, Kenny, and infant Bobby.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 59 years, Inece (Pierson) Griffin; sons, Randy (Beth), Neal Griffin; grandchildren, Miranda (Steven) Lawson, Lauren Griffin, Landon Griffin, Laura Griffin, Brandon Wallen; brother, Gene (Sallie) Griffin; uncle, Billy Flanary; sister-in-law, Doris Griffin, special family- friend, Allan (Wanda) Berry; and several special nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with brother Bill Tignor officiating. Chris Holder will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, on the family farm, Gate City, VA., with Brother Johnny Duncan officiating. Opal Duncan will provide the music.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service. Landon Griffin, Brandon Wallen, nephews and nieces will serve as pallbearers.
