Delores Faye (Egan) Snipes, 83, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Born on December 5, 1942, in Scott County, Virginia, Delores was the daughter of the late Charlie Ralph Egan and Eva Mae Rutherford Egan.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Hilton Snipes; sisters, Lois May and Ethel; and brothers, Howard Maggard, Bobby (Myrtle) Egan, Gene Egan, and Ralph Egan.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lois (Mohamed) Abouyoussef, Bernice (Walter)Easter; her son, Bruce Chandler; Nicholas Starnes, who she loved as a son; her cherished granddaughter, Brooklyn Loptien; sister-in-law, (Ida Mae) Egan. She is also survived by her special friends, Sharon and Eugene Cutshaw, Marylin Gregg, and Bessie Wilhoit and Teta; her special niece, Margie Carol Whitehead, who she loved like a daughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Roscoe, Wally, Lilly, and Tanner, who brought her much companionship and joy.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Marvin Egan and Rev. Mark McLaughlin officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Egan Cemetery in Fort Blackmore, Virginia.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
