Gate City, VA ? Robert "Bob" Dean, 83, entered into rest Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Brookhaven Manor
Nursing Home.
He was born in Scott County, VA to the late James Lucian Dean and Flora Alice Greear Dean.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Margaret Smith and Kathryn Dean; two brothers, Ray Dean and Cardinal Dickerson.
Survivors include two sisters, Maxie Osborne, Kingsport, TN and Jessie Burke, Abingdon, VA; brother, Bill Dean, Appalachia, VA, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. G.W. White officiating. Music will be provided by Greg and Becky White.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Lawson Confederate Cemetery, Snowflake,VA.
The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be his friends.
