Patsy L. Compton, 86, Dungannon, VA passed away, Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Patsy was born in Dungannon, VA on June 29, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Nora (Lucas) Finch.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Wiley Russell Compton, Sr.; daughter, Daisy N. Compton; son, Wiley Russell Compton, Jr.; sisters, Zelma Hicks, Freida Collins, Elsie Kilgore, Linda Starnes; and a brother, Ben Finch preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Zola Ann Compton Baker and granddaughter, Morgan-Ann Madison Baker, who were also her caregivers; Emogene (Lanny) Bright, and Virginia Smith; son, Roger (Tiffinie) Compton; grandchildren, Morgan-Ann Madison Baker, Steven (Jessie) Bright, Tim (Amanda) Bright, Michael (Tina) Smith, Sherril Smith, and Chris (Janice) Smith, Hunter Brooke (Jonathan) Tribble, Aaron (Lauren) Castle, Alison Faith Compton, Roger Heath Compton, and Jesse Southers; several great grandchildren; sisters, Angie Belle (Gary) Spivey, and Maxie Castle; brother, Teddy Finch; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Walter Taylor officiating. A Eulogy will be given by Lanny Bright.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the Compton Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Steven Bright, Tim Bright, Wade Compton, Cole Compton, Terry Wayne Compton, Aaron Castle, and Jesse Southers will serve as pallbearers. Glen Compton,Carl Compton, and Jack Compton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wishes to thank Tiffinie Compton, Charles Perry, and Nell Castle for all of their love and care of our mother. Our very special thanks to Dr. Jeff Vaughn for the love, care, and compassion that he showed the Compton family during our difficult time.
