Mary Elizabeth Christian, 87, Gate City, VA passed Sunday, April 28, 2019 at her residence.
Mary was born in Scott County, VA on April 25, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Tillman and Dona Gibson.
Mary was a member of Pentecostal Power House Church and a former employee of Gate City Funeral Home.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Virginia Faye Atherton and Ruth Crooke; and brothers, Darrell, Jack, Tom, T.M., and Glen Gibson preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Darrell Christian, Gate City, VA, Harvey Christian and wife, Angel, Panama, FL, and Ronnie Christian and wife, Karen, Gate City, VA; daughter, Kathy Christian, Surgoinsville, TN; brothers, Jim Gibson, Gate City, VA, Bob Gibson, Wichita, KS, and Fred Gibson and wife, Nancy, Gate City, VA; sister, Maxie Music, FL; 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Hensley officiating. Debbie and David Easterling and Toke Hensely will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
