Charles "Bub" Joseph Porter- Castlewood, VA

Charles "Bub" Joseph Porter, 29, Castlewood, VA, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Charles was born on May 30, 1996, and was the son of Stacy Joe Porter and Jennifer Mosier.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Joe Bill Porter, Faye Porter, Herman Williams, and Kathy Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Jennifer Mosier, Castlewood, VA; father, Stacy Porter, Nickelsville, VA; son, Chanler Guiles Porter; sister, Kayla Vaughn, Gate City, VA; brothers, Dustin Porter, Gate City, VA and Hunter Dean, Gate City, VA; 3 nieces; and 3 nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Gate City, Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Scott Fields and Todd Quinn officiating. Janice Herron will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Elliott Cemetery, in Nickelsville, VA. His co-workers of Rock-Solid Concrete Company will serve as pallbearers. Hunter Dean, Tyler Hensley, Dallas Bryant, Patrick Quillen, Eric Pope, and Todd will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to aid in funeral expenses.
