Mrs. Lois Elizabeth Castle, 80, East Carter's Valley community, Kingsport, TN passed away, Friday, December 5, 2008 at her residence.

Mrs. Castle was born in Scott County, VA on February 20, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Bertha Mae Smith Stapleton. She was a member of Willow Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, West Carter's Valley. She will be sorely missed by her church family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Culberson and husband, Paul, and Bessie Kate (Kay) Chapman; two infant brothers.

Surviving is her husband of sixty-five years, Arthur B. Castle, Kingsport, TN; daughter, Peggy Brickey and fianc?, Ed Baker, Church Hill, TN; son, James "Jim" Castle and wife, Lanie, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Pamela Coates and husband, Steve, Church Hill, TN and Stephen Brickey and wife, Tina, Church Hill, TN; great grandchildren, Brandon and Bethany Sorah, Church Hill, TN and Danielle Brickey, Church Hill, TN; brother, J. B. Stapleton and wife, Polly, Nickelsville, VA; brother-in-law, Joe Chapman, Gate City, VA; special niece, Brenda Stapleton; special friends, Christine, Marcie and Margaret along with several other loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Smith, the Rev. Scott Tipton and the Rev. Allen Hensley officiating. The Smith Family will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2008 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Special nephews, Michael Stapleton, Joey Chapman, Ronnie Chapman, Craig Chapman, Johnny Culberson and Wayne Skeens will serve as pallbearers. Nephews, Carl Castle, Hagan Castle, Dick Castle, Junior Castle, Don Castle and Floyd Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will be meeting at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
