Benny Castle, 63, entered into rest June 3, 2008 at his residence.
He was born in Scott County, VA August 12, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hughie Castle and one brother, Darrel Castle.
Mr. Castle retired from Eastman Kodak in the Yarn Division after 32 years of service. He was also a member of the Nickelsville Masonic Lodge #173.
He served with the 1030th Engineering Battalion Virginia Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny Castle, Nickelsville, VA; mother, Eulala Castle, Nickelsville, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Tabitha and Mark Amys, Rogersville, TN; grandson, Caden Amys, Rogersville, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Durette and Paul Kilgore, Gate City, VA; very special friends, Everett "Butch" Lane and wife, Cathy, Gate City, VA, Cleve Gray and wife, Hazel, Yuma, VA; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Masonic services will be at 6:45 p.m. with Masonic Lodge #173. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Joe Barber officiating.
Military graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Monroe McConnell Cemetery, Midway Community with the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 and assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard. The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Castle family.
