Cassie Ann (Gibson) Hensley, 71, Duffield VA, passed away, Friday, July 4, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Cassie was born on December 20, 1953, in Tazewell County, VA, to the late Ervin Edward Gibson, and Evelyn Laura (Lucas) Gibson.

Cassie had many hobbies including sewing, bingo, playing cards, and even fishing. She retired from Buster Brown.

In addition to her parents, her sisters, Judy Ward, JoAnne Musick, Sheila Fields; and brothers, Jimmy Gibson, Earnest Gibson, Essie Lee Gibson, and Ervin Gibson, Jr., preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Gibson (Cynthia), Conroe, TX, and Jay Hensley, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Almeda Lawson (Hagan), Gate City, VA, Patsy Beaver (L.C.), Pennsylvania, Mary Stephens, Wabash, IN, Doris McConnell, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Evan Gibson (Melissa), Blountville, TN, Samantha Gonzalez (Jesus), Conroe, TX, Hunter Hensley, Kingsport, TN; great- grandchildren, Liam, Leo, Emmett, Stella, Lili; special nephew, Barney Fields; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11-1p.m., Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Woody Scott and Danny Darnell officiating. Marsha and Travis Barnett will provide the music.

Graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. David Gibson, Evan Gibson, Hunter Hensley, Barney Fields, Peanut McConnell, and Tyler Lawson will serve as pallbearers. Her 5 great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Ridgecrest Manor for their love and compassion for Cassie, and to special nurse, Debbie Mullins, for her love and care.
