Peggy Jean Burke, 76, Sullivan County, TN, went home to be with her lord Friday November 18, 2022.
Peggy was born in Scott County, VA on March 7, 1946 , to the late Jess Ballard and Hazel Mae Salyers Dean.
She was a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church of Kingsport, TN.
In addition to her parents; her sisters, Martha Osborne, and Mandy Dean; and brothers, Henry and Ronald Dean preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Burke; daughter, Elizabeth Jean Taylor (Eddie); two granddaughters, Meagan Potts, and Holly Hall; four great grandchildren, Avery Gillenwater, Brayden Dockery, Miley Potts, and Gabriella Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor David Smith officiating. Lisa and Mark McCracken will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Hartsock Cemetery in Nickelsville, VA. Family and Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
