He was born in Scott County, VA September 17, 1924 to the late David Sullivan Brooks and Blanche Lee Whisnant Brooks.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Charles T. Quillen and John D. Williams.
Claude had a great love for the Lord, whom he came to know at an early age.
Survivors include his sisters, Betty Quillen, Kingsport, TN and Ann Williams, Hiltons, VA; brothers, Kelly Brooks and wife, Helen, Don Brooks and wife, Wilma, Eddie Brooks and wife, Sandra, Johnie Brooks and wife, Carolyn, all of Gate City, VA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Garry Eads officiating. Music will be provided by Roy Ison.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and friends, Michael A. Quillen, David Brooks, Robbie Brooks, Corey Shepherd, Harold Ketron, Jr., Dennie Haynes, Coy Arnold and Travis Jackson.
