Thelma Juanita Broadwater ? Nickelsville, VA Mrs. Thelma Broadwater, 71, Nickelsville, VA passed away, Saturday, September 22, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Broadwater was born in Scott County, Virginia on January 31, 1936, a daughter of the late Willard John and Sarah Blanche Smith Addington. She was a member of Nickelsville Baptist Church and a former member of Meade's Chapel Church. In addition to her parents, her husband, Paul Bruce "PeBo" Broadwater and an infant sister, Violet Ruth Addington, preceded her in death. Surviving is her son, Paul Edward "Eddie" Broadwater and wife, Lisa, Kingsport, TN, her granddaughter, Chloe Broadwater, sister, Norma Jean Kilgore, Nickelsville, VA, special nieces, Jean Quillen, Diane Williams and Janet Broadwater and a special nephew, David Bevins along with three very special friends, Sally Ann Smith, Ruby Meade, Betty Elliott, Ruth Castle and Margaret. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2007 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Jerry Meade and Bobby Hillman will provide the music. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Nickelsville Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Tim Quillen, David Bevins, Harry Broadwater, Howard Broadwater, Jonathan H. Broadwater, Jonathan R. Broadwater and Darryl Williams will serve as pallbearers. The family will be meeting at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Tri-Cities Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 5835, Kingsport, TN 37663.
