Bobby Joe Fields, 67, Gate City, VA passed away, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Heritage Hall, Big Stone Gap, VA, from issues of his declining health.

He was born in Kingsport, TN on March 25, 1958, and was the son of Dorothy Marie (Fields) Lawson.

Tad loved hunting, fishing, and going to Bluegrass Festivals with his longtime friend Rick Pendleton. He also loved cooking for his friends at this yearly event.

In addition to his mother, Dorothy Lawson, his stepfather, Garney Lawson, grandparents, Walter and Lona Fields, niece Kellie Frazier, nephew, Josh Berry, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins preceded him in death.

Surviving is his brother, Gary Lawson, sisters, Lori Lawson, Tammy (Richie) Frazier, Teresa (Wayne) McNew, Lisa (Nelson) Elam, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and friend Doris French.
