Betsy Mullins France, 91, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Betsy was born on November 4, 1934, in Scott County, VA, to the late William Ray Mullins and Julia Horton Mullins.

Betsy was a lifetime member of Clinchport Freewill Baptist Church, attending from childhood to her passing. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She worked her entire lifetime caring for others, working diligently on the farm, and caring about her community. She was known for her sweet, kind nature, her delicious Christmas candies, and her unending love of children. She will be greatly missed as the dear lady and good person she exemplified every day. Her family sends her to rest with great love.

In addition to her parents, her husband Paul Wallace France; son, Andrew Jackson France; grandson, Mickey France; sisters, Lubelle Bishop and Ann Miller; and brothers, Ernest Mullins, Malcolm Mullins and Don Mullins preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Qualls (Donnie); sons, Sammy France (Lissa), Roger France (Teresa), and Larry France (Teresa); sister, Sue Turner (R.J.); brother, Jack Mullins (Carol); grandchildren, Michael France, Jeanne France, Joe Qualls, Amanda Wolfe, Jason France, Josh France, Ericka Milford, Auburn Nikolos, and Holly Taylor; several great grandchildren; some great- great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Katie..

The family will receive friends from 12-2p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 2:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. George Gibson and Rev. Bruce Brewer officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family will serve as pallbearers.
