Harold Grey Begley, 81, Kingsport, TN passed away, August 2nd, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Harold was born in Hancock County, TN on July 10, 1937 to the late Kemp and Virgie (Robinette) Begley.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, and retired from B.A.E. in Kingsport, TN.
He attended Midfield Freewill Baptist Church, Kingsport TN when his health permitted.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Effie Begley; and brothers, James, Claude, Ray, and Dale Begley preceded him in death.
Surviving Harold is his wife, of 58 years, Brenda Phillips Begley, Kingsport, TN; daughter, Jackie Begley, Kingsport, TN, son, Chris Begley and wife, Kelli, Austin, TX; grandchildren, Kris Begley, Tiffany Begley, and Ricky Hutson; great grandchildren, Vanessa Begley, Tanner Hutson, and Tayla Hutson; great great grandchild Tifa Hargis; and an expectant great great grandson, Victis Hargis; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Josh McKinney officiating.
Military Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Begley Family cemetery in Eidson, TN by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honors Team. Chris Begley, Kris Begley, Ricky Hutson, Ricky Begley, Van Begley, and Jamie Begley will serve as pallbearers. Tanner Hutson and Tiffany Begley will serve as honorary pallbearers
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, it was the request of Harold that donations be made to the Pat Summitt Alzheimer’s Foundation, 1932 Alcoa Highway, Medical Building C, Suite 150, Knoxville, TN 37920.
