Dorothy Maye (Brickey) Begley, 81, Kingsport, TN and formerly of Ft. Blackmore, VA went Home to be in God’s loving arms on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Dorothy was born in Scott County, VA on August 26, 1938 to the late Boyd Sarvis and Helen Blanche (Stidham) Brickey.
She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she met.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Arnold L. Begley; sons, Terry A. Begley and Donald E. Begley; sisters, Janice Summey, Peggy Summey, Joyce Horne and Sue Ella Brickey (infant); and brothers, Sinclair Brickey and Raymond Brickey preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Helen Susie Mays and Daney Peters, Mountain City, TN, Pamela R. Jones and husband, Jeff, Lexington, SC and; son, Bobby L. Begley and wife, Diane, Wise, VA; grandchildren, Cristy McNutt and husband, Rowdy, Matt Laney and wife, Beth, Kevin, Begley, Jason Begley and Amanda Cooper, Brandy McCullough and husband, Donnie, Autumn Mays and Sean Collins, Isaiah Mays, Wendy Olliff and husband, Brian, Carri Addington, Andy Jones, and Jeffrey Jones, Brooklyn Miller, Garrett Begley, Jacob Boyd, and Anne Marie Epps, Danielle, Mitchell, and Jaden; great grandchildren, Lachlan and Kian, Lindon, Laura Hall and husband, David, Connor, Jase and Blake, Skyler, Caden, Willow, Bentley, Kyleigh and McKinleigh, Emilei and Ameleia, and Kyleigh; great great grandchildren, Amelia and Ezra; sisters, Beulah Bledsoe, Gate City, VA and Loretta Strazzante and husband, Angelo, Ft Blackmore, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with a Eulogy by Jack McNutt. Skyler Arnold will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Brickey Cemetery in the Wood community of Ft. Blackmore, VA.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
