Mr. Larry Alan Cox, 62, Kingsport, TN passed away, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Larry was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee on August 22, 1949 to the late Vernon E. and Bonnie Burke Cox Salyer.
He loved his job of playing Santa Claus at the Fort Henry Mall.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie M. Cox, Kingsport, TN; daughters, Michele Smith and husband, Emerson, Kingsport, TN, Sandra Harold and husband, Donald, Kingsport, TN, and Sarah Garcia and husband, Jose, Church Hill, TN; son, Larry A. Cox, Jr., Pound, VA; grandchildren, Jeremiah Cox, Aaron Kennedy, Billy Kennedy, Sheena Cox, Sabrina Lunsford, Summer Lunsford, Hunter Mullins, Gabriella Garcia, and Miguel Garcia; great granddaughter, Lola Kennedy; brother, Danny Cox, Weber City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funereal home with Rev. G.W. White officiating. Family Gospel will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Cox Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.

Goldie & family, I am so sorry for your loss. Larry was a wonderful person and every time I would see him he always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by all that knew him. Again, I am sorry. If you need any thing please don't hesitate to let me know.
