Lura Mae Gibson, 86, of Gate City, VA entered her heavenly home on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Brian Center in Weber City, VA.
Mrs. Gibson was a kind and loving friend to all who knew her. She was born in Lee County on February 26, 1926 to Ella and Harvey Randolph Peters.
In addition to her parents, she is united in death by her husband, Oscar Gibson, beloved son, Morgan Oscar Gibson, sister, Alma Gibson and brother, Paul Peters.
Mrs. Gibson leaves behind a loving companion and caregiver, Jerry Carter, grandson, Marty Gibson, great-grandson, Jeremy Kilgore, daughter-in-law, Phyllis Spivey, nephews, Wilburn (Wimp) Gibson, and wife Judy, Tim Gibson, and wife Sherry, Roy (Ross) Gibson and niece, Anita Gibson Baker, as well as several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home. The service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Riley Boy officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
