Mrs. Margaret "Kat" Kathleen Carter, 73, Edison, TN passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Carter was born in Scott County, VA on September 13, 1938 to the late Thomas Ramey and Cora Jane Frazier Ramey
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Effie Qualls and Fannie Ketron, infant sister Alta Mae Ramey; brothers, Ramey, L.W. Ramey and Franklin James Ramey, infant brothers: Charles Ramey and William
She is survived by her husband, Guy Carter; daughters, Leola Witt, Jonesville, VA; sister, Lovely Lucille Hass, Kingsport, TN; brothers, Daniel Mcarthur Ramey, Duffield, VA, Thomas C. Ramey and wife June, Edison, TN; grandchild, Natasha and husband James Coomer, St. Charles, VA and great-grandchild Dylon Coomer along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Denny Hass and Rev. Lloyd Snelson officiating. The Tipton Family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 20 2012 at the Cox Chapel Cemetery, Mabe Community, VA. Mrs. Carter's nephews will serve as pallbearers, Tony Carter will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
