Juanita B. Sweeney – Ft. Blackmore, VA

Betty Juanita Babb Sweeney, 89, of Ft. Blackmore, VA Passed away Sunday July 15, 2012 at the Brian Center in Weber City, Va.

She was born on November 26, 1922 to Minter Baily Babb and Alpha Almeda Ketron Babb in Gate City, VA.
Mrs. Sweeny was retired from Delco Division, General Motors and returned to the mountains of Virginia in 1976 with her Husband Cleatus M. Sweeney.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sweeney is preceded in death by her Husband Cleatus M. Sweeney and her Brother Rafford Elwood Babb.

She is survived by her brother, Billy D. Babb and wife, Madelyn, who have been her main care givers, Ft. Blackmore, VA and brother Verlin M.(Junior) Babb, Greenville, TN, step grand-daughter Lisa Burton and husband Mike, Cynthiana, KY and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11-1 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jackie Strickler officiating. The Dungannon Circuit Choir will provide the music.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA following the funeral service. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, Juanita's family requests those who wish to make a donation to Ft. Blackmore Methodist Church Building Fund.
