Georgia Mae Flanary – Dungannon, VA

Georgia Mae Flanary, 72, Dungannon, VA passed away, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at home.

Ms. Flanary was born in Scott County, VA on August 17, 1939 to the late Hobert and Stella Lee Summey Flanary.

In addition to her parents, her sister, JoAnn Lucas, brothers, Hobert Flanary, Jr., Lonnie Flanary, and James Flanary; and step mother, Mary Alice Flanary preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorrie Flanary, Dungannon, VA; sons, Dewayne Porter, Dungannon, VA and Kevin Flanary and fiancé, Becky Nickels, Dungannon, VA; precious grandchildren, Zackery Duncan, Lauren Duncan, and Jimmie Flanary; precious sisters, Betty Jean Vicars, Dungannon, VA and Frankie Cordle, Nickelsville, VA; special aunt, Anna Lea Flanary, Midway, VA; a special niece, Jennifer Cremins; special great niece, Tay Tay; along with several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Red Salling and Brother, Danny Darnell officiating. Travis and Marsha Barnett will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Carter Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Randy Cordle, Dwight Lane, Stevie Lucas, Allan Perry, Butch Cremins, and Freddie Cordle will serve as pallbearers. Coy Hall and Mack Quillen will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.

The family wishes to convey their special thanks to Wellmont Hospice for their love and care of Georgia.

I am so sorry for all you guys during this time of Georgie's passing. I know it must be so painful to lose your mom and sis, but just know that she no longer has to suffer. Our family loves each of you all and prays for you during this sad time.
