Dustin L. Bledsoe, 26, Gate City, VA passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Dustin was born in Sullivan County, TN on April 9, 1986 to Michael Wayne and Shirley Massingill Bledsoe. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
His maternal grandfather, James Lee Massingill; paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Ada Mae Bledsoe, aunt, Eline Head; and uncle, Jerry Bledsoe preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Dockery Bledsoe, Gate City, VA; his daughter, Chloe Brielle Bledsoe who is expected in June; parents, Michael Wayne and Shirley Massingill Bledsoe, Hiltons, VA; brother, Eddie Wayne Bledsoe, Hiltons, VA; maternal grandmother, Jamie Lee Massingill, Edison, TN; father and mother-in-law, Otis and Debbie Dockery, Rye Cove, VA; sister-in-law, Samantha Dockery, Rye Cove, VA; and brother-in-law, Logan Dockery, Rye Cove, VA.
In addition, special family friend, Brenda Carico, Hiltons, VA; aunts, Mary Lou Peters and husband, Gary, Iva Jean Bledsoe, Janie Fink and husband, Rick, Evelyn Lucas and husband, Eugene, Deana Banner and husband, Michael, Betsy Gilliam, Amanda Justice and husband, Tim, Jolene Hurd and husband, Wayne, and Monica Bledsoe; uncles, Donald Bledsoe, James Bledsoe and wife, Gail, Ronald Bledsoe and wife, Kim, Gillis Massingill and wife, Patricia, Lowell Head, Willie Massingill and wife, Angie, Timmy Massingill and wife, Christy, Darrel Wayne Hurd and wife, Annette, Jerry Hurd and wife, Thelma, and Thomas Hurd and wife, Kaloa; along with many cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Ray Dockery officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Massingill Family Cemetery, Speers Ferry Community of Scott County, VA. Donald Fleenor, Daniel Fleenor, Robby Berry, Rodney Ramey, Bobby Whiteaker, Logan Dockery, Rick Fink, and Donald Bledsoe will serve as pallbearers. Justin Carico, Tony Massingill, Dennis Vermillion, Bobby Lucas, and Conley Mullins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Jennifer Bledsoe to help with expenses.
