Mr. Robert Bruce Grizzle, 73, Big Stone Gap, VA passed away, Friday, March 16, 2012 at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Medical Center.
Mr. Grizzle was born in Scott County on November 5, 1938, the son of the late William Joe and Lucy Helen McDavid Grizzle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Grizzle; grandchildren, Johnathon Ray Hammonds, Jason Wade Grizzle, and Jessica Belle Hammonds; and sisters, Bernice Trivitt and Cory Finch.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Gambrel, Gate City, VA, Helen Marie Hammonds and husband, Steve, Gate City, VA, and Patty Darlene Horton, Duffield VA; son, Kenneth Bruce Grizzle and wife, Diane, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Scott Grizzle, Matthew Hammonds, Miranda Howell and husband, Brian Howell, Brian Hammonds, Joe Hammonds, Aaron Berry, Jasmine Gambrel, Leann Gambrel, Stephanie Hensley, and Brad Hammonds; great grandchildren, Chasity Brooke Howell, Johnathon Howell, Emily Hammonds, Malichi Hammonds, Wade Grizzle, Kaitlyn Hensley, Ragan Hensley, Noah Hammonds, Elijah Berry, Mason Grizzle, Eathan Grizzle, and Kane Grizzle; brothers, Charles Grizzle, Earl Grizzle, and Johnny Grizzle; sisters, June Wilder, Faye Saez, Minnie Grizzle, and Becky Lark; step-mother, Martha Grizzle; special friend, Jimmy Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Gate City United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Danny Grizzle officiating. The church choir will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 19, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gate City Funeral Home.
