Clyde Tomlinson

Clyde Lee Tomlinson, 81, entered into rest February 8, 2010 at his residence.

He was born February 6, 1929 in Scott County, VA to the late Macie Tomlinson. Including his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Bowen.

Survivors include his wife, Rusha Tomlinson, Kingsport, TN; five step daughters, Jean Bright and husband, Jerry, Rogersville, TN, Clarice Brummett and husband, Dale, Kingsport, TN, Myrtle Starnes, Kingsport, TN, Ollie Miller and husband, Ron, Kingsport, TN, Ruth Baker and husband, Bobby, Blountville, TN; six step sons, Henry Lawson and wife, Verdie, Gate City, VA, Bud Stapleton and wife, Rita, Jefferson City, TN, Darl Stapleton and wife, Wanda, White Pine, TN, John Stapleton and wife, Darlene, White Pine, TN, Robert Stapleton, Kingsport, TN and Glen Stapleton, Kingsport, TN; special niece, Katie Chapman, Blackwater, VA; two brothers, Bob Tomlinson and wife, Eve, Blackwater, VA and Jim Reynolds, Gate City, VA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at Lawson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Eulogy will be provided by William McDuff. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Baker, Bud Stapleton, Jerry Bright, J. Fred Crawford, Jimmy Rhoton and Ray Chapman.

Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Tomlinson Family.
