Gate City, VA | September 27, 2009August Lynn Broadwater Caudill, 30, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 27, 2009 due to an automobile accident.
She was born September 6, 1979 in Sullivan County, TN. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ked and Sue Byrd; paternal grandfather, Joe B. Broadwater.
Survivors include her father, Jerry P. Broadwater, Gate City, VA; mother and step dad, Pamela Quillen and husband, Ronald, Montross, VA; daughter, Meadow Caudill, of the residence; son, Brady Porter, of the residence; sister, Lindsay Quillen, Gate City, VA; paternal grandmother, Maxie Broadwater, Gate City, VA; step paternal grandparents, Fred and Dorothy Quillen, Gate City, VA; aunts, Joyce Meade and husband Roy, Nickelsville, VA, Tutti Jennings and husband, Jeff; uncle, Joe Broadwater, Jr. and wife, Judy, Gate City, VA; aunts, Joyce McConnell and husband, Bill, Freda Head and husband, Ben; uncles, Dennis Byrd, Dale Byrd and wife, Brenda, Jerry Quillen and wife, Kim; beloved friend, Duane Norris; several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Holston View United Methodist Church, Weber City, VA and other times at the residence of her father, Jerry Broadwater. Services will be held at 7 p.m. at Holston View United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Pierce and Rev. Bob Copeland officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Kilgore, Jesse Broadwater, Joey Broadwater, Jamie Shelton, Ree Gefellers and Andy Shelton.
Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Broadwater family.

I heard the tragic news of August's passing. I can't tell you how sad this is makes me, but my saddness does not compare to the sadnes that you are feeling.I knew August when she lived in Charleston, S.C. We lived next door. She was my daughter, Jennifer's best friend. They would do everything together, ride bikes, go to school together. She always had a ready smile and was always happy. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. She will be in our hearts and sadly missed forever. May the Love, Grace and Peace of our Lord Jesus be with you all during this time of grief.

Mom and Dad,
I am so sorry she was taken from you so early but always remember she is watching over all of us now and is in a much better place than we are. Always remember her wonderful smile and great sense of humor.No matter what troubles she was having she always stayed positive and kept going for Brady and Meadow. Not only was she my sister but she was my best friend and I am going to miss her so much. She always looked after me and now she will be my guardian angel.

Joyce and family. I lost my neice ,Donna Vance,(she was 43) July 6th'09. She left 2 beautiful daughters behind. I want the family to know that I am praying for all of you & keeping you in my thoughts. I have since I heard about the tragic news. This has really had an effect on me. I remember August in the 6th grade, remember her moving to Charleston, SC, & I remember her coming back to high school when we were freshmen and feeling so excited. She was a wonderful person whom everyone loved. She had a great personality that just drew you to her. Her talent for art was amazing. She would do anything for you & help see you through anything. Everytime I have any memory of her, she was always smiling. She was definitely an angel on earth. I can't believe how fast news travels to Pensacola, FL where I'm living now, but it did. I know that she has had an amazing effect on my life and I will NEVER forget her. She helped me through so much in my life. Words cannot describe how deeply she will be missed. My heart and condolences/sympathy go out to the family. She will continue to live on through her children. Rest in peace, August, and we will see you again one day.

My prayers are with you all in your time of loss and may God comfort you all, I went to College with August, we were in the same paralegal classes, and she would always have a smile on her face and she would make all of our cakes and dress up for fall festival to paint on all the little children's faces, and she would bring Brady to school sometimes and when she was pregnant with Meadows we gave her a baby shower, she always lit up a room and was a great friend and mother and will always live in my heart and will be missed RIP August.

My thoughts and prayers are with August's family, Duane, and friends. I have known her and her family for years, and I cherished her dearly. Although we never told each other, I know we meant a lot to each other. I will cherish all the memories I have of her such as riding bikes, being at her mamaw's house, going to church, sooo many. August, Beth and I were the 3 amigos. She touched everyone who ever came in contact with her. She loved each and everyone of her family and she lived for her two children.
